Center Introduction & Vision

Seoul National University AI Health & Care Center (SNU AIHC)

is a transdisciplinary research group under the SNU AI Institute,
dedicated to advancing AI-driven research and technological innovation in health and care.

By leveraging AI technology, we aim to realize healthy aging in the era of global population aging and lead sustainable care innovation.
Our goal is to build a future ecosystem for health and care through research, technological application, social impact analysis, policy development, and evaluation.

SNU AI Health & Care Center (SNU AIHC) serves as an AI-based integrated research platform for health and care in response to the super-aged society.

– Lead the discourse and agenda in AI research for health and care in the era of super-aged society and health security.

– Conduct public, inclusive, and ethical AI research, development, and innovation projects in the age of digital healthcare.

– Serve as a hub for communication and collaboration among government, academia, industry, and research sectors to address social challenges through AI research.

Focus on transitioning from AI development to AI application paradigms, with “Senior Care AI”

1. Policy research on the utilization and expansion of Senior Care AI services in Korea.

2. Empirical AI/ML studies using big data from National Health Insurance and Long-Term Care Insurance.

3. Identification and support for project planning and agenda development.

4. Planning and executing AI-driven research initiatives through multi-agency seminars and symposium operations.

Policy Research for Development & Implementation

We explore barriers and opportunities in scaling AI/ML-powered senior care services by analyzing national perception surveys and expert insights to inform policy and service innovation.

Predictive Modeling for Elderly Institutionalization
Using Health & LTC Big Data

We develop ML/DL models using national health and long-term care data to predict admission, discharge, and mortality, aiming to deliver actionable insights for policy and practice.

Multidisciplinary Seminars for Networking and Strategic Agenda Building

We host regular seminars and forums engaging experts across academia, industry, and government to foster collaboration and define joint research agendas. Key topics include care robotics, AI chatbots, digital therapeutics, healthcare governance, and technology assessment.
